Instructions
In this article we will go through installation of the Glex Windows Standalone client, and some common problems that might occur on during installation.
The latest version of Glex Energy, as well as a changelog, can always be found here: http://glex.no/download/.
There are two ways you can install Glex Energy;
Regular windows application installer
Simple installer: Downloading and extracting a zip archive directly to your disk.
Some anti-virus applications mistakes the Executable for a harmful application. Make sure to allow Glex if your anti-virus software wants to block it.
Regular installer instructions
Go through the following steps to download and install the latest version of Glex:
Open the download page and click on the Regular Windows installer link
An .exe file will start downloading in your web browser
Locate the file and run it
Follow the installation steps, and run the application when done
You need Microsoft .NET 3.5 installed on you machine to run Glex. The regular installer will install this in the background, and might require you to reboot your machine during the installation process.
Simple installer instructions
Go through the following steps to download and install the latest version of Glex:
Open the download page and click on the Simple installer link
A zip file will start downloading in your web browser
Locate the zip file and unzip the content*
Double click the Glex.exe file located in the folder you just extracted
If you open Glex and get the warning message about missing .NET 3.5, you should use the regular installer instead.
*You can unzip the content anywhere you like, you should however make sure to unzip the files into a folder by right clicking the zip-file and clicking “Extract to..”.
If you have an older version of Glex located on your machine the best practice is to remove the old files and extract the new files from the .zip file to the same location.
