Error when running the Glex installer
In some rare cases, you may encounter the following error message after running the Setup Glex Energy executable:
The "Error 5: Access is denied" typically occurs when the installer doesn’t have the required permissions to execute from the temporary directory. Here are some steps you can try to move past it:
Run as Administrator: Right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator." This often provides the permissions needed.
Check Antivirus Software: Sometimes, antivirus software can block installers from running in the temporary folder. Temporarily disable the antivirus and try again. Just remember to re-enable it afterward.
Clear the Temp Folder:
Press
Win + R
, type%temp%
, and press Enter to open the Temp folder.Delete as many files and folders as possible (some files might be in use and can’t be deleted).
Afterward, try running the installer again.
Modify Permissions for Temp Folder:
Go to the temp folder (by typing
%temp%
in Run or navigating toC:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Temp
).Right-click the folder, go to Properties > Security tab, and ensure that your user account has Full Control.
Install in Safe Mode: If all else fails, try running the installer in Safe Mode. Sometimes, Safe Mode bypasses permission restrictions.
