The surface import modal is the tool to import surfaces to the 2D map view of Glex. The surface is converted to a flat representation of the actual surface and includes hill-shading, contour lines and color gradient choices.

Currently, the following formats are supported:

  • .zmap

  • .xyz (only when gridded)

  • .tiff (geotiff) [coming soon]

There are currently some limitations to these files:

  • Files can be no larger than 100mb.

  • The CRS of the file has to use ED50 as its datum. (lat-long is not supported)

Using the surface settings it is possible to customize the surface.
