1.What is the Strat Filter?

In the Strat Filter you can create custom parent-child filters between different stratigraphic data types.

With the Strat Filter you can select a ‘parent' stratigraphic unit (eg a Group) and then toggle through various ‘child’ data types. On the map you will see which 'child’ zones are present inside the parents top and base.

Child zones are drawn on the map as bars, displaying the top-to-base order in which they appear in the wellbore. The bars are annotated with unit name and thickness in Measured Depth.

The Strat Filter is located in the Windows tab in the top ribbon.

3. Creating a stratigraphic filter

To create a stratigraphic filter you will need to:

1) Select what data you wish to display on the map.

2) Select the zone you wish to display that data for.

The selection below shows the Formations in the Fangst group. The Strat filter will also display a list of all wells containing the selected zone.

The data will be shown on the map as bars indicating the thickness (in MD) of every formation in the selected group (or other zone selected).

It is possible to select the same category displayed data and zone, this will result in a single bar showing the thickness of that zone (in MD).

4. Display Filter Range

Display Filter Range allows you to view different depth ranges of your filter.

By clicking All Zones, you will view all Child zones present in your filter result.

Upper will return the shallowest Child zone in your filter result.

Lower will return the deepest Child zone in you filter result.

*Note that Upper and Lower are calculated using Measured Depth.
